Connectors - Glass-Ceramic Sealing

Glass-ceramic sealing refers to a special type of glass-to-metal sealing whereby the amorphous glass material is "crystallized" through a subsequent heat treatment. The resulting material is primarily crystalline in nature and takes on similar properties to ceramic. SST utilizes high temperature glass-ceramic materials that have characteristics suitable for high vacuum, high pressure, high thermal expansion, and temperature capability from cryogenic to 400°C bake out. The glass-ceramic sealing system is ideal for sealing to high expansion metals such as 304/316 stainless steel. The glass-ceramic process capability provides SST with a competitive advantage when designing and producing coaxial connectors and high density feedthroughs. Most parts can be provided directly sealed into a flange mount or for a TIG weld installation.

High Current Connectors

high current connectors  These two SST connectors are rated for currents from 69 to 250 amps and incorporate ceramic to metal sealing technology for use in UHV, pressure, cryogenics, and gas/plasma processing applications. Both series provide an ideal solution for high current applications which maximize ratings, safety, and the connection interface. Conductors are silver plated copper on the airside in order to reduce contact resistance and range in diameters of .142 inches to .375 inches. Pin densities include 1,2,3 & 4-pin configurations. Airside plugs are included with all assemblies and have crimp style contacts for wire/cable installation. Standard assembly installations include weldable, ISO quick flanges or conflat flanges. This provides ideal sealing solutions for demanding applications including high temperature, ultra-high vacuum, and high pressure environments. Whether you are looking for standard products, custom solutions, or a partner to develop a new bonding technique using advanced materials, SST is ready to support your sealing requirements.

Connector 62-Pin High Density

62-pin connector  Solid Sealing Technology now offers the Vacuum Industry with a 62 Pin High Density Connector Solution. This new connector is designed and manufactured with stainless steel pins and shell. The insulation utilizes SST's glass-ceramic sealing technology providing a leak tight assembly capable for UHV applications. The conductors are gold plated 0.7mm diameter pins with a current rating of 2 amps and voltage rating of 500 V. The high density connector can be supplied to [[%1% %2%|customers]] as a weldable unit or as an assembly in an industry standard flange, fitting, or custom plate configuration. An industry standard plug is available for the single ended connectors on the airside connection.

Baseplate Octal Connector

octal connector 8-Pin Double Ended Baseplate Connector Assembly. This connector utilizes SST's glass-ceramic sealing technology providing a leak tight assembly. The conductors are 2.3 mm diameter Alumel pins on the vacuum side with a current rating of 5 amps. The complete assembly with plugs has a voltage rating of 350V DC and temperature capability of -25°C to 205°C. The high density connector can be supplied to customers on a one inch baseplate, as a weldable unit or as an assembly in an industry standard flange, fitting, or custom plate configuration. Industry standard plugs are available for both sides of the double ended connector.
